Softball Preview: Columbus Discoverers vs. Kearney Bearcats
On Thursday Columbus will have to hit the road after three straight games at home. They will take on the Kearney Bearcats. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Meanwhile, Kearney entered their tilt with Norfolk on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They skirted past the Panthers 8-7. That's two games straight that the Bearcats have won by just one run.
Olivia Wright and Kennedy Lee did most of the damage at the plate: Wright went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI, while Lee scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Lee has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Magnani, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Kearney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Columbus' record now sits at 5-9-1. As for Kearney, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
