Soccer Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Columbus and Norfolk meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Discoverers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Columbus were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Norfolk apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Norfolk, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Columbus will face off against Lincoln Southeast at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Norfolk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
