Baseball Recap: Columbia Central Takes a Loss

Columbia Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Grass Lake Warriors. The Golden Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Columbia Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conor Rentfrow, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Tyler Ladd was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Columbia Central's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Grass Lake, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Columbia Central will venture away from home to square off against Tecumseh at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grass Lake, they will welcome Manchester at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
