Soccer Recap: Heritage Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Arroyo

After losing to Arroyo the last time they met, Heritage decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Heritage Patriots came out on top against the Arroyo Dons by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 715th, while the Dons are ranked 284th).

Heritage hit Arroyo with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Chiemezie Nomeh (2), Nick Moreland, and James Purvey.

Heritage's record now sits at 3-4-1. As for Arroyo, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-2.

The future could be bright for both Heritage and Arroyo: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Heritage will try to hand Deer Valley their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Arroyo will look to extend Hayward's three-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
