Basketball Game Preview: Denham Springs Yellowjackets vs. Vandebilt Catholic Terriers

Having just played yesterday, the Denham Springs Yellowjackets will jump right back in to play the Vandebilt Catholic Terriers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Denham Springs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Denham Springs' tournament run continued when they took on St. James on Thursday. Denham Springs blew past St. James, posting a 76-38 victory. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

Denham Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DaSean Golmond, who posted 14 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Trae Dorsey, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Vandebilt Catholic has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 55-45 to Catholic - N.I. on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Terriers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Panthers are ranked 132nd).

Denham Springs' win bumped their record up to 17-0. As for Vandebilt Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
