Volleyball Recap: Fall River Find Success

While Fall River's win against Pardeeville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Fall River wouldn't go down easily and took Pardeeville into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 22-25, 11-25, 15-5.

Dana Dykstra was nothing short of spectacular: she had eight digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aili Majocka, who had ten digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Fall River was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. They are a perfect 7-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

When it comes to explaining why Pardeeville lost, don't look at Lexi Hughes. Despite the final result, she had 23 assists and 19 digs.

Fall River's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Pardeeville, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Coincidentally, Fall River and Pardeeville will both be playing Markesan the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Pirates will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
