Cedaredge is a perfect 3-0 against Dolores since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bruins will face off against the Bears at 2:00 p.m.
Cedaredge's last matchup with Olathe could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Bruins came up short against the Pirates, falling 11-2. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bruins couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, Dolores made easy work of Del Norte on Tuesday and carried off a 13-1 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Levi Hampton made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Dolores is 2-1 when Hampton allows two or fewer hits, but 8-9 otherwise. Hampton was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Orin Samulski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayden Lancaster, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Dolores always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are 9-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Dolores pushed their record up to 10-10 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Cedaredge, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.
Cedaredge got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Dolores by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
