Softball Game Preview: Gilmer Bobcats vs. Northwest Whitfield Bruins

Gilmer is 2-8 against Northwest Whitfield since August of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bobcats will take on the Bruins at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Gilmer came up short against LaFayette on Monday, falling 10-2.

Lily Fortune was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Heritage hit Northwest Whitfield with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bruins lost 12-1 to the Generals.

Gilmer's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Northwest Whitfield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

Gilmer beat Northwest Whitfield 7-2 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
