Basketball Recap: Pathway Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Justin Hertzler and Denver Nelson

Pathway Christian was the 43-29 winner over Unity Christian when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell 43-32 to the Knights on Tuesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pathway Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Denver Nelson and Justin Hertzler. Nelson posted nine points and three steals, while Hertzler scored 11 points. Nelson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

Pathway Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Unity Christian, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pathway Christian will challenge rival Quad Cities Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 4. Meanwhile, Unity Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Galesburg Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
