Basketball Recap: Reading Takes a Loss

Reading lost against Madeira back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Reading Blue Devils fell 44-37 to the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 634th, while the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS are ranked 295th).

Madeira got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben Reed out in front who posted 11 points and five assists. Eli Beck was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Reading's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Madeira, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Reading wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-29 defeat against Wyoming on the 27th. As for Madeira, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-48 victory against Indian Hill on the 28th.
