Softball Recap: Davis Drops Highest Score of Season Against Eisenhower

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Davis ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eisenhower Cadets, sneaking past 18-16. The Pirates' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lesli Badillo made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Badillo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Taylor Harris was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabel Rosas, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Davis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Davis' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-16. As for Eisenhower, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Davis and Eisenhower could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Pirates will challenge Wenatchee at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (253 vs. 104). Meanwhile, Eisenhower (ranked 186th) will meet Eastmont (ranked 32nd) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
