Baseball Recap: Trinity Lutheran Takes a Loss

Trinity Lutheran and Rising Sun squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Trinity Lutheran had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Shiners by a score of 6-5. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Shiners earlier this season, when they won 7-3.

Trinity Lutheran saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Brown, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Drake Goodpaster, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

The loss snapped Trinity Lutheran's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-12 record. As for Rising Sun, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-11.

Trinity Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rising Sun, they will challenge Hauser at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Jets will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Shiners surely won't give up without a fight.
