The Cisco Loboes will challenge the Winters Blizzards at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Cisco came up short against Coleman and fell 8-5.
Parker Williams put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Julius Proffitt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Winters fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Bangs on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 3-2. The Blizzards' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.
Like Cisco, Winters also got a great game from a two-way player: Diego Rodriguez. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. Rodriguez has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Will Dunham and Jonah Whitaker did some serious damage despite the final result: Dunham went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Whitaker scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Cisco's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-2. As for Winters, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6-1.
Cisco beat Winters 7-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2016. Will the Loboes repeat their success, or do the Blizzards have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
