Volleyball Recap: Angleton Falls to Santa Fe

The Angleton Wildcats came up short against the Santa Fe Indians on Friday and fell 3-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 21-25, 25-19.

Gabriella Gardner paced Angleton's offense, picking up 13 kills. Gardner got some help from Shiloh Dorr and her 14 assists. Dorr was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Santa Fe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caroline Doerre, who had 24 kills and 24 digs. Alexis Durant was another key player, getting 30 digs, 12 kills, and three aces.

Angleton has now lost seven of their last eight games on the road. That's taken a bite out of their 16-11 record this season. As for Santa Fe, they are now 12-18, having gone 3-2 since their seven-game losing streak ended.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Angleton is set to square off against their familiar foe Pasadena at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Santa Fe will face off against their in-conference opponent Iowa Colony at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
