Football Game Preview: Kendrick Cherokees vs. Spencer Greenwave

Kendrick is 0-9 against Spencer since October of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Cherokees will head out to challenge the Greenwave at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kendrick will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Hardaway, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Cherokees strolled past the Hawks with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 14-0.

Kendrick found their leader in sophomore LaVasco Williams, who rushed for 155 yards and one touchdown. Those 155 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Williams.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spencer). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Jordan 45-7. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since November 7, 2019, but that streak is no more.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Kendrick, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Kendrick took a serious blow against Spencer when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 55-14. Can the Cherokees avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
