Volleyball Recap: Hebron Falls Despite Big Games from Michael Hein and Antonio Pena

Hebron was the 3-0 winner over South Central when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks lost 3-0 to the Satellites on Friday.

While Hebron ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17, 25-21.

Hebron's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Antonio Pena, who had 14 digs and three blocks, and Michael Hein, who had 18 digs and two blocks. Pena has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 13 times he's played.

South Central found their leader in freshman Eli Snyder, who had ten digs and two assists. Brady Sanderson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Hebron has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for South Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Hebron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Tri-Township on the 26th. As for South Central, they will face off against Elkhart at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
