Preview: Raytown Bluejays vs. Raytown South Cardinals
Raytown is 8-0 against Raytown South since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Raytown Bluejays on the road again and play against the Raytown South Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Raytown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 366th, while Raytown South is ranked 95th).
Raytown suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Grandview, falling 64-16.
Meanwhile, Raytown South stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Van Horn, posting a 54-23 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Raytown South has posted since December 1, 2023.
Raytown dropped their record down to 3-16 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Raytown South, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Raytown strolled past Raytown South when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 63-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Raytown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
