Baseball Recap: Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Comes Up Short

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary was the 11-0 winner over St. Bernard when they last played one another back in May of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals lost 15-3 to the Vikings on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cardinals have suffered against the Vikings since March 30, 2015.

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary got a good showing from Adrian Reyes, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Reyes also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Cardinals are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Matthew Luna made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for St. Bernard, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Vikings beat Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary by a score of 4-0 on Friday.
