Baseball Recap: Salesian College Preparatory Pride vs. Albany Cougars
Salesian College Preparatory had lost nine straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-16 to make it ten. They fell just short of the Albany Cougars by a score of 2-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-3 on Wednesday.
Salesian College Preparatory saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Junior Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
As for Albany, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games.
On Albany's side, the result came thanks to Jude Hatamiya's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Hatamiya has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
