Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Schuylkill). They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Shikellamy Braves on Saturday. With that win, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Kevin Jones was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Chase Slotcavage was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

North Schuylkill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

North Schuylkill's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Shikellamy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Schuylkill will take on Panther Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shikellamy, they will square off against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Shikellamy will need to watch out since Danville has now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
