Basketball Recap: Milford Comes Up Short

Milford was the 70-67 winner over King Philip Regional when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Milford Scarlet Hawks fell 55-44 to the King Philip Regional Warriors on Friday. The game marked the Scarlet Hawks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Milford still got an impressive performance from Andrew Rivera, who posted 17 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The contest was Rivera's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gus Coutinho, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards.

Milford has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for King Philip Regional, they pushed their record up to 9-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Milford will host Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for King Philip Regional, they will face off against Taunton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Taunton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 179 points over their last three matches.
