Baseball Game Preview: Ogden Tigers vs. Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs

The Ogden Tigers will take on the Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ogden will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Ogden is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Ben Lomond on Thursday as they made off with a 17-4 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Denver Rhodes was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kash Thompson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Ogden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Judge Memorial Catholic had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bears 10-8. Surprisingly, this marked the Bulldogs' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Aidan Dorn was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Augustine, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Ogden's win bumped their record up to 4-18. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Ogden might still be hurting after the 19-6 loss they got from Judge Memorial Catholic when the teams last played back in March of 2021. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
