Recap: Frostproof Bulldogs vs. Chiefland Indians
There's no place like home for The Frostproof Bulldogs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 23-18 victory over Chiefland on Friday.
The critical scores for Frostproof came from Eddie Gammage, Landon Fuller, and Omarion Jackson.
Despite the loss, Chiefland saw an underclassman step up: Jon Adams picked up 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Frostproof's victory was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 6-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Tenoroc and 0-10 Discovery (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.7% over those games). As for Chiefland, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frostproof will take on Lemon Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chiefland, they will head out on the road to face off against Newberry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Newberry knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Chiefland likes a good challenge.
