Softball Recap: Cordia Comes Up Short

Cordia extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 21 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They lost 17-2 to the Letcher County Central Cougars. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Letcher County Central, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Letcher County Central's part, Anna Hatton was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Hatton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Collier, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Cordia will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Knott County Central at 7:30 p.m. As for Letcher County Central, they will head out to take on Pikeville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
