Wetumpka was the 2-1 winner over Elmore County when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Wetumpka started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 15-11.

When it comes to explaining why Wetumpka lost, don't look at Ashlynn Turner. Despite the final result, she had 38 digs and one assist. Turner is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Burdett, who had 18 digs.
