Soccer Recap: Montverde Academy Comes Up Short

Montverde Academy and Lake Highland Prep squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Montverde Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders by a score of 2-1. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Highlanders earlier this season, when they won 0-0.

Montverde Academy's goal came courtesy of Lola Rey, who's now up to 11 this season.

Montverde Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 19-2. As for Lake Highland Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Montverde Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Highland Prep, they will square off against Cardinal Gibbons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Highland Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.
