Basketball Recap: 13 Straight Home Victories for Calhoun County

Calhoun County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past the Monroe Golden Tornadoes 63-60. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Golden Tornadoes are ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Monroe still got an impressive performance from Brayden Burns, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Burns a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamond Seadrow, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points.

Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.5 points per game. As for Monroe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
