Softball Game Preview: Edward Little Red Eddies vs. Messalonskee Eagles

The Edward Little Red Eddies will take on the Messalonskee Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Edward Little fell victim to Oxford Hills and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that the Red Eddies have lost by just one run.

Messalonskee had taken Bangor down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-1.

This is the second loss in a row for Edward Little and nudges their season record down to 7-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Messalonskee, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Edward Little came out on top in a nail-biter against Messalonskee in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Red Eddies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
