Martinsville is 9-1 against Magna Vista since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Martinsville Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Magna Vista Warriors at 8:00 p.m. Martinsville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Martinsville took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They managed a 60-54 win over Bassett. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Magna Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 55-45 to George Washington, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Eagles are ranked 16th).

Martinsville's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Magna Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Everything went Martinsville's way against Magna Vista in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Martinsville made off with a 52-32 victory. Will Martinsville repeat their success, or does Magna Vista have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
