Recap: Diller-Odell Griffin vs. Pawnee City Indians
The Diller-Odell Griffin gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pawnee City 63-22 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-11.
Myleigh Weers was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 19 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Keira Hennerberg, who scored 11 points.
Despite the defeat, Pawnee City saw an underclassman step up: Adelyn Sisco scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds.
Diller-Odell's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Pawnee City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Diller-Odell won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Pawnee City, they will head out on the road to face off against Tri County on Tuesday.
