Baseball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 5-1 to the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Micah Mark was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Mitchell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Roxby, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Looking ahead, Mitchell will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Clearwater Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Palm Harbor University, they will square off against Countryside at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
