Basketball Recap: Tri-Cities Christian Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Honaker, Tri-Cities Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Mountain Mission Challengers 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since December 10, 2024.

Tri-Cities Christian found their leader in sophomore Emery Haws, who shot 54% from the field en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. The match was Haws' fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Emma Jaworski, who posted nine points and four steals.

Tri-Cities Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Mission only five offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Mission lost, don't look at Annah Chacha. Despite the final result, she shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Chacha now owns an excellent 42.5% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Gladness Peter, who earned eight points and eight rebounds.

Tri-Cities Christian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-11. As for Mountain Mission, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.

As of now, neither Tri-Cities Christian nor Mountain Mission have any future games scheduled.
