Football Game Preview: Monroe Bearcats vs. Mountlake Terrace Hawks + How To Watch

Monroe is a perfect 3-0 against Mountlake Terrace since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bearcats will host the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Monroe, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Mountlake Terrace's (thus far) undefeated season.

Monroe lost 42-21 to Everett on Friday.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Matthew Lachappelle Jr., who picked up 112 receiving yards and two scores. Another signal caller making a difference was Chris Britt, who threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, while Mountlake Terrace put up some points on Friday, the same can't be said for Shorecrest. The Hawks took their game with ease, bagging a 29-0 victory over the Scots. Fans of the Hawks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Monroe better keep an eye on Owen Boswell. He was instrumental in Mountlake Terrace's win, rushing for 115 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. What's more, Boswell posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Mason Wilson was another key player, rushing for 128 yards on only 15 carries.

Mountlake Terrace was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 240 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Mountlake Terrace's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything came up roses for Monroe against Mountlake Terrace in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-7 victory. In that contest, the Bearcats amassed a halftime lead of 20-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
