Basketball Recap: Clifton Central Takes a Loss

Clifton Central lost against Hoopeston back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Clifton Central Comets fell 56-49 to the Hoopeston Cornjerkers.

Claire Dixon went supernova for Hoopeston, to rack up 22 points and five steals. Dixon continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mady Klaber, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Clifton Central's loss dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Hoopeston, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

Clifton Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hoopeston, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 43-35 defeat against Watseka/Milford on the 20th.
