Basketball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

St. Francis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the St. Patrick Shamrocks on the road by a 71-57 margin. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Shamrocks are ranked 71st).

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for St. Patrick, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.

St. Francis will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Leo at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for St. Patrick, they will take on Crane Medical at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
