Basketball Recap: Pungo Christian Academy Raiders vs. Northeast Academy Eagles
The Pungo Christian Academy Raiders won the last time they faced the Northeast Academy Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Pungo Christian Academy came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 45-37. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pungo Christian Academy.
Pungo Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alden Taylor out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ginny Pugh, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Northeast Academy had strong showings from Hayes Hatcher, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, and Arland Davis, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Hatcher continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Pungo Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Northeast Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Pungo Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northeast Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
