Football Recap: Palisades Pirates vs. Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes

After flying high against Salisbury Township last Friday, Palisades came back down to earth. The Palisades Pirates had to suffer through a 64-14 loss at the hands of the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 197th).

Niko Carestia continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Schuylkill Haven, rushing for 313 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.9 yards per carry. Carestia really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run. Colton Reber was another major influence, as he rushed for 157 yards and ran in a TD.

Palisades' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Schuylkill Haven, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

Palisades does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Schuylkill Haven, they will welcome Executive Education Academy Charter School at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Schuylkill Haven is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
