Baseball Game Preview: Scott Highlanders vs. Oneida Indians

Scott hasn't had much luck against Oneida recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Highlanders will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Scott turned things around against Clarkrange on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Buffaloes.

Meanwhile, Oneida made easy work of Oakdale on Thursday and carried off a 10-2 win.

Jordan King spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Maddox Hutcherson was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Eli Rector also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Oneida was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Scott's record now sits at 3-13. As for Oneida, their record is now 7-13.

Scott couldn't quite get it done against Oneida when the teams last played back in April of 2019 as they fell 11-6. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
