Baseball Recap: Lewisburg's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lewisburg had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Oxford Chargers. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Talon Haley made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Nelson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games he's played. Colson Alexander was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Lewisburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Lewisburg's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Oxford, they dropped their record down to 7-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
