Basketball Recap: Brock Jackson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Parkland over East Forsyth

Parkland lost against East Forsyth back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Parkland Mustangs fell 70-58 to the East Forsyth Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while the Eagles are ranked 147th).

Parkland lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brock Jackson, who went 9 for 15 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. The contest was Jackson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. JoShaun Williamson was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Parkland and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for East Forsyth, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3.

Parkland will face off against Thomasville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Forsyth, they will challenge R.J. Reynolds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. R.J. Reynolds knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully East Forsyth likes a good challenge.
