Livingston has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lathrop recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Wolves will challenge the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. Livingston will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
On Monday, Livingston got the win against Central Valley by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Wolves have won eight contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Annalee Aguilar made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Elizabeth Avila was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Tatiana Muniz was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Livingston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Lathrop made sure to put some runs up on the board against Johansen on Monday. The Spartans skirted past the Vikings 18-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted against the Vikings since May 24, 2021.
Lathrop got a massive performance out of Luz DeLuna, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with seven RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five hits gave DeLuna a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Martinez, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
Livingston has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Lathrop, their record is now 9-6.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Livingston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. However, it's not like Lathrop struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Livingston's way against Lathrop in their previous matchup back in March, as Livingston made off with a 19-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
