Basketball Recap: Academy of Science and Innovation Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Academy of Science and Innovation had won five straight home games and Kalani Rivera did her part to make it six on Thursday. The Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens claimed a resounding 73-28 win over the Civic Leadership Eagles thanks in part to Rivera, who went 9 of 15 from beyond the arc en route to 40 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Maiara Rodriguez was another key player, dropping a triple-double on ten points, 13 boards, and ten assists. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played.

Academy of Science and Innovation has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy of Science and Innovation will square off against Hall at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Civic Leadership, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bulkeley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
