Lucy Thayer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Blacksburg got a massive performance out of Paris Mayes, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Kayla Butler was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.

Blacksburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .525. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Brashier Middle College Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 18-2 to Chesnee.

Blacksburg's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Everything went Blacksburg's way against Brashier Middle College Charter in their previous matchup back in March, as Blacksburg made off with a 14-0 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bengal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
