Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Red Devils vs. Pendleton Bulldogs

Liberty is 2-8 against Pendleton since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Liberty Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pendleton Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m.

Liberty is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Landrum.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pendleton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Palmetto 9-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Pendleton let Cam Williams and Kobe Gentry run wild. Williams scored three runs while going 2-for-5, while Gentry scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Williams also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Pendleton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Pendleton, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Liberty suffered a grim 14-5 defeat to Pendleton in their previous meeting on Saturday. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
