Volleyball Recap: Kelly Lopez and Martina Mouawad Secure Win for Cushman

Cushman posted their closest win since October 1, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Leonard Lancers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Leading Cushman to victory were Martina Mouawad and Kelly Lopez. Mouawad had nine digs and two aces, while Lopez had 19 assists and two aces. Lopez is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Cushman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are 10-4 when they serve at least ten aces.

Cushman's record now sits at 10-7. As for Leonard, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coincidentally, Cushman and Leonard will both be playing Oxbridge Academy the next time they take the court. The Cougars will head out to face the ThunderWolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Lancers will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
