Trinidad skates past Walsenburg with ease

Recap: Trinidad Miners vs. Walsenburg Panthers
The Trinidad Miners had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed by Walsenburg on the road to the tune of 43-3. The team accrued 33 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Trinidad can attribute much of their success to Layla Maes , who scored 15 points along with 4 steals. Monserrad Viera Flores was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 3 steals.
Trinidad's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Walsenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Trinidad will take on Des Moines at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Walsenburg, they will square off against Primero at TBD on Thursday. Hopefully Primero focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
