Basketball Recap: David City Takes a Loss

David City lost against Cross County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The David City Scouts took a 44-28 bruising from the Cross County Cougars. That's two games in a row now that the Scouts have lost by exactly 16 points.

When it comes to explaining why David City lost, don't look at Cameron Hlavac. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Reese Svoboda was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Langdon Arbuck was the offensive standout of the contest as he went 7 of 11 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Allen, who posted three points.

David City dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Cross County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

David City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-37 loss against Fillmore Central on the 18th. As for Cross County, they will head out on the road to face off against Dorchester at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cross County is facing Dorchester at the right time seeing as Dorchester is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
