Basketball Recap: Beach Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Beach came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 63-58 W against the Screven County Gamecocks.

Beach's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcus Liddell led the charge by putting up ten points and six assists. Liddell is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayce Jenkins, who posted six points and eight boards.

Several Gamecocks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was LeVez Roper, who put up 14 points. Rodney Beckwith was another key player, earning 13 points.

Beach's record now sits at 6-3. As for Screven County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Beach will venture away from home to face off against Long County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Blue Tide have now posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Screven County, they are taking a road trip to take on Bryan County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
