Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Meridian). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Pearl Pirates 74-34. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Pirates are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meridian has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Pearl, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pearl has already played their next contest (against Oak Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
