Softball Recap: Morro Bay Comes Up Short

After soaring to 20 runs the game before, Morro Bay was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They lost 19-1 to Santa Ynez. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Morro Bay has suffered since April 11, 2024.

Morro Bay dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Santa Ynez, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morro Bay will host Santa Maria at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.08 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Santa Ynez, they will be playing at home against Carpinteria at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
